World Music Initiative eV
Cultural Institute for Musical Diversity, Cultural Dialogue and Artistic Innovation
The World Music Initiative is a cultural institute based in Germany, dedicated to promoting musical diversity, intercultural dialogue and the development of contemporary artistic expressions.
Based on the conviction that music can connect people across cultural, linguistic and social boundaries, the institute develops and implements concerts, orchestral projects, educational programs, artistic residencies and international collaborations.
The central focus of this work is the question of how cultural diversity can not only be preserved but also translated into shared creative processes. The World Music Initiative understands culture not as a static heritage, but as a living space for encounter, exchange, and further development.
The institute's projects bring together artists from diverse backgrounds, forging new connections between tradition and the present, local roots and global exchange. This process results in artistic formats that consciously move between established genres and open up new perspectives on identity, belonging, and social coexistence.
A particular focus is placed on promoting cultural participation and making the diverse cultural realities of our society visible. Through music, education, and artistic collaboration, the World Music Initiative creates spaces where people can engage in dialogue, learn from one another, and jointly develop new forms of cultural expression.
The World Music Initiative sees itself as a platform for international cultural cooperation and as a catalyst for an open, diverse and future-oriented cultural landscape.
